Thredbo Biotech Summit 2008
The fourth annual Thredbo Biotech Summit is being held on Friday 25 and Saturday 26 July, 2008. The conference is organised by Bioshares, Australia's leading independent biotech investment publication, and we are delighted that Wilson HTM and Freehills Patent and Trademark Attorneys are sponsors to this event.

Once again, the conference aims to provide the ideal turf-neutral venue for investment and commercial biotech participants to meet and discuss key issues affecting the Australian biotech sector. For the first time this year we will hold a strictly CEOs only closed session that will be chaired and is sponsored by Freehills.

Speaker List
We are delighted to announce that this year our Special Guest Speaker will be Dr Lester Crawford, former Commissioner of the FDA. This will be a unique opportunity for Australian biotech managers and investors to gain an insight into the FDA at the intimate setting of Thredbo. Getting to Thredbo
Thredbo is located midway between Sydney and Melbourne, with travel taking about six hours by car. Alternatively, attendees can fly to Canberra and drive 2.5 hours to Thredbo. Registration & Program

Accommodation
Attendees are advised to book accommodation early. There are 65 rooms at the Thredbo Alpine Hotel, where the conference is being held and this is likely to book out early. There are excellent lodges adjacent to the Hotel with recommended lodges listed on this site. (Click ACCOMMODATION for details).

Social functions
There will be a cocktail reception, sponsored by Wilson HTM, at Credo Restaurant to welcome delegates on the Friday night. There will also be a conference dinner on the Saturday evening with entertainment provided, at the Lake Crackenback Resort. A bus will take delegates to and from the dinner location.

And all delegates who are competent skiers or snowboarders are invited to participate in the Bioshares Ski Race. Note that this race will be held on the Friday morning this year. A pre-race briefing will be held at Berntis bar at 8pm on the Thursday night preceding the race.
